A key to Stivectin's marketing success was the clever tagline "Better than Botox?," devised by manufacturer Klein-Becker.  The tagline proked Allergan, the maker of Botox, into lengthy litigation with Klein-Becker. In December 2006, Allergan and Klein-Becker entered into a confidential binding settlement agreement.

Lawsuits aside, is Strivectin truly comparable to Botox?
Nine medical experts recently asked whether Strivectin is better than Botox, unanimously state that there is no comparison. 

As summed up by Dr. David Berman, a Virginia plastic surgeon, "this claim by Strivectin is rubbish."  Not a very friendly happy birthday message to Strivectin.

Seattle plastic surgeon, Dr. Richard Baxter, refered to the claim as akin to comparing apples to oranges, since they do different things and treat different conditions.

"Botox treats wrinkles caused by hyperactive muscles of expression. It turns out that the question of which is better actually has an answer in a head-to-head study done a couple of years ago. As you would expect, there was absolutely no effect on the wrinkles that Botox is used for with Strivectin."
